You can use Mobile Admin to view, add, and delete scheduled tasks on any of your Managed Hosts. The first step in managing scheduled tasks is to select Scheduled Tasks from the Mobile Admin Manage Services screen or from the Services screen for one of your Managed Hosts. This will display a list of existing scheduled tasks for the host.

Note: Scheduled Tasks functionality is limited on Windows Vista, Windows 2008, and Windows 7. Mobile Admin does not support Scheduled Tasks on Windows 2012 or Windows 8.

Creating a New Task

  1. On the menu of the Scheduled Tasks screen, click New Task.
  2. In the Name field enter a name for the new task.
  3. On the menu or on the Create Scheduled Task screen, click Save.
  4. Complete the following fields:
    • Run – type the path for the program or script that you want to run as a scheduled task. If it requires parameters, type them after the path. If the path includes spaces, insert double quotation marks (“) around the path.
    • Start In – specify the working directory for the program or script.
    • Comments – type comments that you would like recorded in association with the task.
    • Enabled – turn this ON or select this check box to enable the task: turn this OFF or clear it to disable the task.
    • Run As – type the user account that will run the scheduled task. The default entry for this field is the user account that you logged in with. If you change this value, you will be asked for the account password upon saving.
  5. On the menu on the Scheduled Task screen for the new task, click Save.

Creating, Changing, and Deleting Schedules for a Task

To create a schedule for a task:
  1. From the Scheduled Task screen for a specific task, click Schedule in the menu.
  2. On the menu, click New Schedule.
  3. Select a type of schedule from the list.
  4. Specify the schedule for the task.
  5. On the menu or on the screen for the chosen schedule, click Save.

Note: You can create multiple schedules for a task by simply repeating steps 2 though 4.

To change a schedule for a task:
  1. From the Scheduled Task screen for a specific task, click Schedule in the menu.
  2. Scroll to and select the schedule that you want to change.
  3. Change the schedule as required.
  4. On the menu or on the screen for the chosen schedule, click Save.

To delete a schedule for a task:
  1. From the Scheduled Task screen for a specific task, click Schedule in the menu.
  2. Scroll to the schedule you want to delete.
  3. On the menu, click Delete and confirm you wish to delete it when prompted.

Deleting a Scheduled Task

  1. In the Scheduled Tasks list, scroll to the task you want to delete.
  2. On the menu, click Delete and confirm your wish to delete it when prompted.
